Important Financial Dates

From earlier in the lesson you will already be familiar with two incredibly important financial milestones mentioned in the lease. Let’s refresh our memories.

The Financial Year – The lease will likely provide an Year end date to run your service charge to each and every year. For instance if the Year End is 31st December, your service charge year becomes 1st January to 31st December.

Tenant Payment Dates – The lease may state a date or a number of dates on which the leaseholder must pay there service charge.

While these dates are easy to understand and in the vast majority of cases are easy to implement and work with. There are certain things you must be aware of in order to give yourself the best chance of successful service charge management.
