Mandatory vs. Non-Mandatory Qualifications

The previous examples are all types of Mandatory Qualifications (of which there are many more). However not all qualifications suppliers may provide are mandoatry.

Mandatory Qualifications: These are legally required certifications that contractors must possess to perform certain types of work. Examples include Gas Safe registration for gas engineers and NICEIC certification for electricians. Ensuring these qualifications are mandatory for compliance with laws and regulations, thus protecting both the building manager and the residents from legal liabilities and safety hazards.

Non-Mandatory Qualifications: These certifications, while not legally required, demonstrate a higher level of expertise and commitment to best practices. Examples might include additional safety training or specialised certifications in specific types of construction. While not compulsory, these qualifications can provide additional assurance of quality and competence.
