Annual Charge Formula

This was a fairly basic formula in the single schedule template, but it gets more complicated here and will continue to get more complicated with additional schedules. However if you know the building blocks, then you should be OK. In order to determine the Annual Charge for each property can no longer just multiply the tenant’s apportionment with the budget total. That won’t work with multi-schedule budgets. Instead, you will need to multiply each of the schedule apportionments with each schedule total. Remembering two important things.

  1. You will need to put the sum for each schedule in brackets. This ensures that the right cells multiply with each other and the formula stays true to what you need.
  2. Use absolute references on the schedule total cells from the budget.

The formula structure you are looking for is as follows (you can see a real example on the template you have downloaded).

=(Tenant % for Sch1*$Sch1 Total)+(Tenant % for Sch2*$Sch2 Total)

You can continue for as many schedules as you have to get the correct annual charge for each property.
